A hands-on in-person cooking class. Wine, beer, or nonalchoholic beverages to purchase alongside the dinner at the end. This class is limited to 10 students. Review our registration and cancellation policies here.

 

We are excited to announce a new partnership in Oakland! The incredible folks at Im Moment Kaffee will be hosting 18 Reasons East Bay pop-ups in their cozy community space.  We will be teaching hands-on cooking classes, demos and events! 

Come cook alongside Im Moment Kaffee’s owner, Semret (Semy) Tecle, to indulge in all things lentils! She’ll teach you the flavors and techniques to create not just one, but two delicious and warming lentil dishes! You’ll saute and season a batch of yellow lentils, and a batch of red lentils to create an Eritrean Timtumo and Birsin, both with a Semy twist to them. These two dishes will be served alongside some warm and fluffy brot at the end of the evening, to also pay homage to Semy’s German roots.

Each dish is a personal creation, perfected with love and attention. We combine German bread with Eritrean spiced fillings and toppings, creating unique offerings. We also make in-house Eritrean honey wine and serve imported Italian Lambrusco, German Riesling, and a selection of German and Eritrean beers.
