A hands-on in-person cooking class. Alongside the baked goods, a hearty snack of locally baked bread, cheeses, veggies and dips, and a seasonal salad will be served with wine and beer. Class is limited to 12 students. It's that time of year, y'all! Holiday Cookie Time, that is! Jennifer chose a variety of traditional cookies, where spices abound and butter rules. We'll learn how to make a variety of cookie types, from rolled, to dropped, to sliced. Working in teams with your fellow classmates, we'll make a lot of cookies. We'll approach this long list of cookies in a "divide and conquer" strategy, so though you may not work on every cookie, there are shared techniques between the recipes. We think dividing the recipes between groups is worth all the cookies we'll get to taste together! We expect to make more than we can eat in one sitting, so get ready to take some home.

Jennifer Altman began her culinary journey at age eight baking and cooking for her family and friends. After a career in science, she followed her passion and became a pastry chef. She is now a culinary instructor teaching both professional and amateur cooks nationally and internationally. She loves anything to do with food—cooking, gardening, recipe developing, teaching, and is particularly interested in food sustainability.
