Celebrate Chuseok, Korea’s autumn harvest festival, with a special cooking class led by JiYoung Park, the beloved instructor behind ParksKitchen in San Francisco. With over 18 years of teaching experience, JiYoung shares not just recipes, but the rich cultural stories and traditions behind each dish. Learn to make authentic Japchae using her family’s vegetarian recipe, pan-fry savory Yuk-jun (beef pancakes), and shape Songpyeon, the sweet rice cakes traditionally made for Chuseok. We’ll all celebrate the holiday with a table filled with the dishes you created, alongside a toast with JiYoung’s two favorite types of makgeolli or sikhye as a non-alcoholic alternative.

MENU

Japchae—JiYoung’s vegetarian family recipe for glass noodles with mixed vegetables

Handmade Songpyeon—Traditional Korean rice cake filled with honey and sesame seeds
