Enjoy a Mexican pop-up dinner featuring Isabel Caudillo, chef and owner of El Buen Comer. El Buen Comer is one of San Francisco's true hidden gems. This menu will be a sneak preview of her upcoming restaurant opening, which will be located on Mission and Kingston Street. Isabel brings the traditional dishes of Mexico City to life with true passion and know how. It's authenticity you can taste in every bite. She has operated her business out of La Cocina's commercial kitchen for the past 7 years. In that time, she's developed a cult following. Every Saturday morning at the Noe Valley farmers' market, a band of regulars line up for her amazing food. Some even bring along an empty pot which she lovingly fills with her flavor packed posole. She's worked alongside some of San Francisco's most respected chefs, including Chef Traci Des Jardins at Mijita Restaurant. If you've ever eaten the breadsticks at Pizzeria Delfina, then you've unknowingly tasted her food. Isabel and her husband have been running the breadstick production out of La Cocina for years. At the heart of her menu are guisados, a staple of Mexico City homestyle cooking: slow-cooked, earthy meat or vegetable stews, served alongside rice, beans and soft, handmade tortillas.
