A seated dinner. Guests are welcome to BYOB wine and beer; we will also have bottles for sale.

Throughout 2016, we will be hosting a series of dinners called Feed Your People. These family-style meals -- cooked by famous chefs in our 18th Street space -- are centered around big batch recipes, many of which will be featured in our collaborator Leslie Jonath’s Feed Your People cookbook (Powerhouse Books 2016). We know that cooking for a crowd can be intimidating, and the goal of both the dinner series and cookbook is to help home cooks gain confidence and creativity when hosting large group meals.

Join us for this special meal cooked by Nicolaus Balla and Cortney Burns of the acclaimed Bar Tartine, featuring their unique take on a crowd-pleasing menu:

New Style Oyakodon: Wings in Spicy Broth with Wild Nori Rice, Simmered Egg, Vegetables and Lots of Accompaniments

These meals benefit our nonprofit community cooking school in the Mission. In our classroom on 18th Street, we offer cooking classes, food craft workshops, and dinners with local farmers and winemakers. Beyond our classroom, we offer a free program called Cooking Matters that teaches basic cooking, nutrition, and budgeting skills to over 2,500 low-income adults and kids each year. In all our programming, we seek to inspire home cooks to make the most of their knowledge, skills, and resources, while cooking creative and delicious meals for themselves and their families.
