A Vibrant Feast - SOLD OUT

A dinner with authors Erin Gleeson and Kimberley Hasselbrink.

Two amazing women put their creative culinary minds together and dreamed up this dinner. Their vision is one of a vegetarian summer menu, inspired by color. Each author is featuring two courses from their book, and they are collaborating on a unique dessert highlighting the best of seasonal stone fruit. Wine and beer will be served.

Kimberley Hasselbrink, photographer and creator of the acclaimed blog The Year in Food, invites you to look at ingredients differently and let their colors inspire you: the shocking fluorescent pink of a chard stem, the deep reds and purples of baby kale leaves, the bright shades of green that emerge in the spring, and even the calm yellows and whites of so many winter vegetables. Thinking about produce in terms of color can reinvigorate your relationship with food, and in this collection of recipes, Hasselbrink employs aesthetics, flavor, and texture to build gorgeous yet unfussy dishes for every season. Erin Gleeson worked as a food photographer in New York City for several years before moving to a cabin in the woods in the Bay Area in 2011. There she started the blog, and now cookbook, The Forest Feast (Spring 2014), featuring simple, colorful, vegetable based recipes. Each recipe is presented visually, with minimal text, and Erin’s own photography, watercolor illustration and handwriting guide you through the steps to make each dish. Erin also teaches photography at the college level and works as a freelance food photographer, shooting for books, magazines, newspapers and restaurants.
