18th St. Kitchen Event Coordinator

The 18 Reasons 18th St. Kitchen Event Coordinator is the attentive and thorough person that ensures the success of our daily events at the 18th St. Kitchen–an expert at managing the changing needs of those present at our cooking classes.

We are looking for an individual who will flourish in the public eye and provide excellent service to all of our guests and to members of our teaching team (i.e. staff, volunteers, contractors, Board of Directors). This person is skilled at communicating positively and professionally and is excited to plan special events (ex. events with external partners, youth programming, fundraisers); a flexible problem solver who takes the initiative to gracefully respond to unexpected elements of event execution.

As our 18th St Kitchen Event Coordinator, you do not need to have a professional culinary background before you start, but you need to be persistently curious, perceptive to people’s needs, and a joyful sharer. People who cannot manage a variety of projects and deadlines on a daily basis, are unable to communicate with a wide variety of people in a sensitive and professional manner, or are not committed to creating and executing creative solutions to solve problems need not apply. You are meant for this role if you are intrinsically motivated to create impactful food education experiences with a strong interest in and appreciation for a wide range of culinary skills.

Ultimately, we are looking for someone who has a talent for in-person and online event planning and execution, is highly organized and can manage multiple projects and communications at once, and is driven by their love for food education and who is whole-heartedly enthusiastic about growing with our business. If this is you, we are excited to meet you!
