A seated dinner. Guests are welcome to BYOB wine and beer; we will also have bottles for sale.

Join local chef Nico Vera for a three course dinner featuring Arroz con Pollo, a traditional chicken and rice dish from Peru that has its origins in the Spanish Paella, but was transformed into a Peruvian criollo dish by the addition of native aji amarillo hot peppers. Throughout the evening we'll play some Afro-Peruvian tunes on the radio while Nico shares stories about the traditions and history of Peruvian cuisine.

Choro a la Chalaca — steamed mussel appetizer
Arroz con Pollo — chicken thighs cooked with rice in a spicy cilantro sauce, served family-style with salsa criolla and a seasonal green salad
Suspiro Limeño — a sweet and creamy custard topped with a meringue cloud

Born in Peru and based in San Francisco, California, Nico Vera is the founder and chef for Pisco Trail, where he specializes in Peruvian cuisine and Pisco mixology. As a regular teacher and guest chef at 18 Reasons, he shares his passion for Peruvian food and culture through pop-up dinners and classes that are a gastronomical tour of Peru’s criollo cuisine and its unique culinary history. He invites you to visit http://www.piscotrail.com/ where you can find a calendar of upcoming events and many of his favorites recipes. Currently, he is working on a book project that is a collection of short stories and recipes from his mom.
