Once a month, we set our tables and open our doors to the community for a simple, shared meal. We work with our favorite ingredients, recipes, and chefs to bring you our most creative and delicious ideas.

May's meal will be cooked by Teresa Sibrian, the mother of our 18 Reasons staff, Juri Sanchez. Teresa is a native Salvadorian who migrated to the United States in the 1980’s. With her she brought her culture and traditional cuisine expertise. Her Families favorite dish are her homemade Pupusas. Juri refuses to eat any other Pupusas that are not made by her mother, she says,  “They just don’t taste as good!”

MENU

Pupusas of Beans and Cheese
Pupupas Cheese and Loroco (small green unopened flower buds used in Central America)

Each pupusa will be paired with the traditional topping; Curtido (fermented cabbage slaw) and Salsa (tomato sauce)
