Bring your beads and celebrate Mardi Gras with Chef Molly! We’ll learn all about king cake: what it is, why we eat it, and different traditions from around the world. We’ll bake two different kinds from two cultures: the festive New Orleans classic streaked in yellow, green, and purple, and the sophisticated French Galette de Rois. Maybe you’ll be the lucky one to find the Fève, or baby, in the middle. To round out the class, we’ll also make a classic confection, pecan praline candies!
We’ll serve a light, vegetarian meal (seasonal salad, cheeses, and more) alongside the freshly made pralines. Slices of cake will be sent home at the end of class.
