Teach a Community to Fish: Dinner with Outerlands
18 Reasons is excited to welcome Dave Muller and Chef Nick Pallone of Outerlands for a very special dinner in support of our Cooking Matters program. Since it opened in 2009, Outerlands has grown from a cult favorite of Outer Sunset surfers to a destination brunch and dinner spot drawing hungry fans from across the city. Outerlands is dedicated to sustainable agriculture and local farms, and shares our committment to strenghthening our community by bringing people together around the table. This will be a true community meal, featuring Outerlands' famous bread made by baker Matt Jones and dessert by pastry chef Lauren Melhus.
Our Teach a Community to Fish dinner series helps support our Cooking Matters program, which offers free cooking classes to over 3,000 low-income Bay Area families every year. Join us to hear from graduates of the program and learn more about our work. The meal will be served by our staff and board of directors, giving us the chance to connect with our community. Your dinner will include wine pairings by Bi Rite Market's wine director, and as always, Chef Sam will join our guest chefs in the kitchen.
