A seated dinner. Guests are welcome to BYOB wine and beer; we will also have bottles for sale.

Throughout 2016, we will be hosting a series of dinners called Feed Your People. These family-style meals -- cooked by famous chefs in our 18th Street space -- are centered around big batch recipes, many of which will be featured in our collaborator Leslie Jonath’s Feed Your People cookbook (Powerhouse Books 2016). We know that cooking for a crowd can be intimidating, and the goal of both the dinner series and cookbook is to help home cooks gain confidence and creativity when hosting large group meals. This Monday's dinner presents the fun and delicious Red Beans Roadshow!

The Red Beans Roadshow is a restaurant pop-up series that takes a New Orleans' trademark Monday-night tradition on the road. Writer/photographer/ne'er-do-well Pableaux Johnson is gracing 18 Reasons with his good, simple food, camaraderie and appropriate misbehavior. And we can't wait!

Modeled on Pableaux's New Orleans home-based tradition, this dinner features a hearty Louisiana supper (red beans and rice, skillet cornbread) combined with the whims of our chef, Michelle (who is thinking about pimento cheese and celery and pecan sandies or buttermilk pie). Less a dinner party than an informal family supper, diners will be encouraged to belly up to the table and break cornbread with friends and strangers alike.
