A demonstration and hands-on class, with snacks provided. Feel free to bring a meal or snack to munch on.

Join local clinical herbalist Sarah Jane Fairless to learn how to use foods and herbs to stay healthy during cold and flu season!  Plant medicine is an incredible resource for preventing infection and providing much needed assistance when the inevitable happens. You likely have many of these helpful allies in your kitchen already! This class will be a combination of lecture and hands-on medicine making. We will discuss easy preparations and techniques for various symptoms and prevention, which herbs are appropriate, and what foods are best for nourishing the body to stay resilient and feeling well.  Students will take home projects such as elderberry syrup and fire cider made in class and leave with a wealth of knowledge and tools to protect themselves and their community throughout the season. Light snacks and herbal tea will be provided.
