Stop by our kitchen in the heart of the Mission District for an evening of art, food, and community. Come celebrate the premiere of George McCalman's original paintings (created just for this space) with light bites, beverages, and good company.
We're proud to collaborate with celebrated Bay Area artist George McCalman on an original series of paintings for our 18th Street kitchen. Tickets are free - we just ask that you RSVP so we know how many neighbors to expect.
About George McCalman George McCalman has been a cornerstone of the Bay Area's visual and cultural life for years — and his love of food runs just as deep. A 2025 James Beard Foundation Media Award recipient, George is a master of both pen and brush. He contributed his artistry to the acclaimed Black Food by Bryant Terry and published the seminal Illustrated Black History, a vibrant tribute to iconic and overlooked figures alike.
