Kavitha is an electrical engineer from India who landed in the United States for her Master's Degree (also in Electrical Engineering). A few years after completing the degree and working around with tech companies in the valley, something unexpected happened: she was smitten and bitten by - not startups or venture capitalists - but wine!
After months of soul searching and introspection she was convinced to take this love for wine to a more serious level. First, she passed the Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW) exam followed by passing the exams to become a Certified Sommelier. Simultaneously, she worked part-time at a couple of wine bars in San Francisco to obtain hands on experience. During this time, she was constantly intrigued by how little a role wine played in her Indian culture and especially with Indian food. This intrigue then led to her along the path of preparing and pairing Indian street food with wine. She shares this exploration on her site, Indian Paradox, and at pop-ups around the Bay Area.
